18+ Adult ADHD Assessment (+/- ASD)

Service Description

Comprehensive ADHD Assessment for Clients 18 Years and Older by a New Zealand trained GP. This appointment includes starting medications (such as stimulants) if clinically appropriate. You will receive a Special Authority number for the medication and the script will be sent to your local pharmacy for collection. Please note there are a number of conditions in which stimulants are not safe to start, such as history of cardiac disease, epilepsy or glaucoma. If stimulants are not safe, other options can be discussed and initiated. *As of 1 February 2026, New Zealand regulations allow vocational GPs and nurse practitioners to diagnose ADHD and initiate stimulant medication for adults (18+).
