18+ Adult ADHD Assessment (80 minutes) — $695
Prior to your assessment
- You will be asked to complete questionnaires about your childhood and current life.
- You will be asked to provide collateral history either in the form of school reports or from people close to you.
What to expect on the day
- Your appointment will be held via a secure Telehealth video link.
- There will be a comprehensive 80 minute assessment to determine whether you have ADHD along with screening for co-occuring conditions.
- You will leave with a treatment plan including medications (if appropriate), psychoeducation, and lifestyle management.
Medications
- This appointment includes the starting of medications (such as stimulants), if clinically appropriate. You will receive a Special Authority number and the script will be sent to your local pharmacy.
- Please note there are a number of conditions in which stimulants are not safe to start, such as history of cardiac disease, epilepsy or glaucoma. Other options can be discussed.
Autism assessment add-on (+$325)
- An add-on to the '18+ Adult ADHD Assessment' for patients who are looking to be assessed for ASD alongside ADHD.
- An extra 20 minutes will be added to the assessment
For Adult ASD Assessment without ADHD (75 minutes), cost is $685
The assessment process is similar to the Adult ADHD Assessment above.
Other Services
Follow-up (20 minutes)
Follow-up appointment for those with an ADHD diagnosis from a doctor. Sessions provide ongoing support, medication changes, dosage adjustments, or non-medication management discussion.

Medication Initiation (40 minutes)
If you have an ADHD diagnosis from a clinical psychologist, you can book a session to discuss starting treatment. If appropriate, we are able to start stimulant medication, provide a Special Authority number, and send your prescription directly to your local pharmacy.
Please note you will need to provide your psychologist’s report before your appointment. If the report does not contain enough information, the appointment will need to be extended or changed to a full 80 minute ADHD assessment.
If your appointment needs to be amended, you will NOT be charged without your consent first or alternatively you are able to cancel free of charge.

Blood tests
Have a form sent to your local Awanui Labs to screen for conditions that can mimic or worsen ADHD. Zinc can be added as part of this screen, however as it is not a funded test there will be an additional charge from the lab (approximately $58.70)
